A savory, aromatic sauce perfect for poultry dishes, featuring Major Products Chicken Stock Base for rich, consistent flavor.
Ingredients
– 1 TBSP avocado or light olive oil
– 1 medium shallot, small dice
– ½ cup white wine
– 2 cups water
– 1 ½ TBSP Major Elite Chicken Stock Base, No MSG Added
– 1 TBSP fresh thyme leaves, chopped
– 2 oz. cold water
– 2 TBSP cornstarch (add up to 1 more TBSP for thicker sauce)
Directions
1. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, add oil and swirl to coat the bottom.
2. Add diced shallots and sauté until tender.
3. Pour in white wine and reduce until it becomes a syrup.
4. In a bowl or measuring cup, mix water with Major Chicken Stock Base to create a flavorful stock.
5. Add the prepared stock to the saucepan with the wine reduction.
6. Stir in chopped thyme leaves and bring the mixture to a boil.
7. In a separate bowl, mix cold water and cornstarch to form a slurry.
8. Slowly whisk the slurry into the boiling sauce until fully incorporated and thickened.
9. Hold sauce hot for immediate use, or chill and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
